FAQs

Do I need prior skateboard experience to book personal lessons or classes? Is there an age limit?

Our personal lessons are offered to all ages and skill levels. Whether it's your first time stepping on a board or you're just looking to brush up on existing skills, all abilities can benefit. With appropriate guidance we will meet you at your skill set and take you where want to go with skateboarding.

Our classes and programs are geared to certain ages and tailored to skill levels. Keep in mind your ability when registering for classes. Age exceptions can be made for skaters with suitable skill level.

What kind of equipment is needed for personal lessons and programs?

For all personal lessons, classes and programs the mandatory equipment is a skateboard and a helmet. Elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards are highly recommended for beginner lessons and classes. During warmer weather, knee pads are required when skating in shorts.

If you're new to skateboarding and do not yet have the necessary equipment, full rentals are available for an extra $10/session. Extra equipment will be provided for after school programs and birthday parties but supplies are limited.

What kind of skateboard is best for a beginner?

Skateboards vary based on height, shoe size, and personal preference. We recommend standard 'trick' skateboards in a 'popsicle stick' shape. Penny boards and long boards are not recommended however can be used for personal lessons and programs. For ages 4-9 we recommend skateboards with a width of 7.75" and lower. For ages 10-18 we recommend sizes between 8" and 8.5". For adult beginners we recommend size 8.5" and up.

What happens in the event of poor weather?

There will be 2 additional make up classes added to the end of each program, only to be used in the event of class cancelation due to poor weather or instructor illness. If a class begins but is rained out before 30 minutes, a make-up class will be issued. If a class begins and is rained out after 30 minutes a make-up class will not be issued.

What is you refund policy for personal lessons?

Full refunds will be issued for lesson cancellations with 24 hours notice of the scheduled lesson. In the event of poor weather, full refunds can be issued or a credit to reschedule the lesson for another date, instructor schedule permitting. Make up credit is valid for up to 1 year.

What is your refund policy for programs and classes?

Full refunds will be issued for cancellations made with 24 hours notice of the first class session. After a program begins only a credit can be issued for the entirety of the course. Refunds/Credit will not be issued for individual classes missed due to illness, injury, travel or other obligations. Credit can be used for future programs and personal lessons and is valid for 1 year.
